ITNAmerica cross-country Storybook Tour kicked off June 16!
The need for better senior transportation touches almost every family in America. By 2030, 1 in every 5 Americans will be over 65, and as they age many will find themselves losing abilities needed to drive safely. The answer is parked in driveways from coast to coast - in our individual capacity to #sharearide. Still the transportation needs of older Americans far outweigh the supply of rides.
That's why ITNAmerica Founder and President Katherine Freund embarked on a 60-day cross-country Storybook Tour this summer, from June 16 to August 14. June 16 was the 20th anniversary of the first ride ever given by the Independent Transportation Network. Katherine stopped in more than two dozen cities from coast to coast, blogging, tweeting and facebooking along the way to share a wide range of inspiring stories about how access to transportation is changing lives. We are continuing to process the nearly 100 videos she shot of people sharing their stories along the way. Follow our YouTube Channel and Facebook to keep abreast of the additional video footage.
